winter fashion

Part two of the seasonal fashions! (:

List of winter fashions :

  1. Coats, jackets (Military = )
  2. Boots! (Preferably leather because they are more sturdy. Uggs are unacceptable. Many a time have i been criticised because of my ugg-ly shoes. Wear the uggs at home.)
  3. Boyfriend Cardigans.
  4. Skinny Jeans (preferably grey, for that super wintery effect)
  5. Knee-high socks (to wear with boots! They're so super cute when you can see them peeking out above where your boots end)
  6. Layers! (Yes, 'tis the season where you can wear two jackets/cardigans at once!)
  7. Big curls with bows! (So gorgeous and it reminds me of Blair from gossip girl. Idk why)
  8. Berets! Oui or non? OUI!
  9. Scarves. they can make or break an outfit, and they're so cozy!
  10. Tights (for extra warmth when wearing a daringly short ensemble)
  11. Gloves. (fingerless = cute!)
  12. Leg warmers. (if worn in a fashionable way)

WINTER

Summer Fashions!

So, today I was just sitting in the car when, POW!, suddenly i had this massive brainwave for two posts.
One post will be summer fashions and one will be winter fashions!
Because although it is summer where I live, it's winter where most of my readers live, so, to make everyone happy I decided to do a post for both.
I will list a bunch of things which I think are totally perfect for summer then at the end I will have pictures of all of them.

  1. Bikinis! Like, seriously, what else is summer for?
  2. Shorts (especially denim) because they keep you cool but also look so cute!
  3. Oversized or off the shoulder tees (Perfect for wearing over a bikini while you're at the beach)
  4. Gladiator sandals (they look perfect with denim shorts, just so you know) ;)
  5. Wavy beach hair! (OMG soo cute! Can be achieved by scrunching your hair or sleeping on braids, numerous other ways to do it, too)
  6. Flip flops. (My mother says these don't look good the rest of the year but she says they look great in summer!)
  7. Loose summery dresses (especially floral print or bright colours)
  8. Fedoras (especially straw. Straw Fedora + Beach = ♥)
  9. Singlets (perfect for tanning your arms!)
  10. Bandeaus (perfect for underneath an off the shoulder tee.
  11. RayBans. When are they NOT acceptable?

Daily Makeup&SkinCare

Hey everyone!
All Made Up requested I do a post on my daily makeup and Skin Care.
In one of my first posts I wrote about my Clean&Clear Foaming Face wash, Toner and Moisturiser, which I usually use. Although, I don't really use the Clean&Clear moisturiser anymore because I didn't like it. Now I use Olay Complete, which I think is really good because it makes my skin feel really soft and it has spf30 in it, too. For my body I use Vaseline Cocoa Butter moisturiser which smells really yummy, but not in an overwhelming way.

For my daily Makeup I usually wear some BYS white eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger and more awake, then I also apply some Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof mascara. That is usually all I wear on a normal day, but sometimes I will apply a light eyeshadow from my BYS pallet or, usually a champagne colour, but sometimes I change it up.

Olay Complete Moisturiser

Vaseline Cocoa Butter Moisturiser

BYS White Eyeliner

Maybelline Colossal Volum' Express Waterproof Mascara

BYS Eyeshadow Pallet

PS: I don't use facial scrubs, etc. because my skin is very sensitive and I don't get breakouts or dry/oily skin anyways so I figure it's safer not to use anything on it other than what's listed. (:

new layout! :D

Okay, so I sort of hated my old layout because I don't really like my blog being so dark and stuff, and today I finally gave in and changed my blog up a bit. The header is the same, not sure if I should change that yet.
So what do you think? Do you like the new look? I tried to actually incorporate some fashion into the background because my old background didn't really have that much to do with fashion or beauty.

I might change it again if no one likes this, please give me tips on what you like and what you'd like me to change!

Also, thanks to Leah (is she mentioned in all of my posts? Hehe) I am sort of more motivated to do more posts. I would also love if you guys could request some more posts that you want to see (e.g. winter fashion, new makeup looks, etc).

Cute Hairstyles for all year 'round

Hey Guys!
Recently I've noticed that I have been doing the same hairstyle over and over again. So, I decided to do this post to inspire me to try out new hairstyles, maybe it will help you, too. (:

Fishtail Braid
Fishtail Braids are soooo pretty! Leah (leahs-land.blogspot.com) is the absolute PRO at doing them. You can check out her blog for instructions on how to achieve this fishy hairstyle.
This look can be seen on many celebrities (such as Rihanna, pictured!) because it is so pretty and it can be really girl or really rock-ish depending on how you wear it.

Messy Bun
The messy bun is so cute and easy! It looks great on anyone and is perfect for people with short-medium hair, although I think it is very hard to do if you have long, thick hair like mine because the bun looked massively oversized and looks ridiculous!

Frech Braid Bangs
This hairstyle is FABULOUS! It goes with any outfit and you can curl or straighten the rest of your hair, and it still looks really great! It isn't very hard, there's plenty of videos on youtube. But basically, you grab a small section of your bangs and divide it into three. You start doing an average braid/plait, but each time you add a little bit extra to the outside pieces. I'm terrible at explaining.

Braided Headband
This s a really fun hairstyle! There's a few videos on youtube for how to do this, and so I wont even attempt to explain. This hairstyle is perfect for going out, but would also look really funky at the beach! You could pair this with an elegant dress, or super cute bikini! Your choice, but whatever you choose, I'm sure you'll look exceptional!

Lip Routine

Whether your staying at home, going shopping, going to school, going on a date, anything, lip gloss, lip balm/Chapstick, and lipstick are always there for you!
Here are a few of my favourite lip products (not all of them), just for you!

 1. I love this lip balm! Smells sooooo good, makes your lips feel quite smooth, and gives you a slight tint so you can wear it for any occasion and it come in really handy at school. (:
 2. I think Blistex is probably the best lip balm for chapped lips because it is water resistant for 80 minutes and when you put it on, it doesn't feel too sticky or anything. Also, it has spf30+, and, I'm not gonna lie, this lil' lip balm has saved me from many embarrassing cases of chapped lips. It smells and tastes ahh-mazing, too.
 3. This gloss was one of my favourites for so, so long. It stays on for quite a while and gives you that super glossy, 'kiss me' look. Although I do warn; less is more! Too much lipgloss just gets annoying, especially if it's a windy day because you're hair will find a way to get caught in your gloss, even if it's tied up.
 4. Gahhh! Smells just like real Sprite! Works like a beauty, too. Although, sometimes I find myself putting it on just so that I can smell it :D
 5. I don't particularly like this one, doesn't smell as yummy as the others, although, it works just as well.
 6. OMG. Miracle gloss! It goes on really strangely but you rub it in with your finger and it ends up looking just like a Lip Stain. It stays on all day, but s always; less is more! I recommend using lip balm before applying this though. I have no idea where to but t because my sister gave it to me :(
 7. This lip care is really good. It smells like coconuts, and gives you a nice glossy finish, as well as moisturising your lips!
 8. This lip gloss is alright. I give it 8/10 because it has a nice colour, and goes on very smooth, but it leaves your lips feeling really cakey and sticky after a while. It tastes sooooo bad.
 9. Ditto Number 8. Although, this one has a slightly lighter colour which is very girly and pretty.
 10. This came in the same packet as my Diva Glamour gloss. It has a different colour to the glamour gloss, and isn't as glossy, but still looks great! I'm running out, though!
11. What can I say? It smells just too yummy and makes your lips so irresistibly smooth and chap-free. <3

I like using a lipbalm (usually Strawberry Fanta or Blistex) and then applying a coat of my lip stain-esque 'Trend' lip-gloss. Finally, I add a coat of Glamour Gloss because the 'Trend' lip gloss is not really glossy, it's more of a lipstick texture.

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Nail Polish

So, recently while I was shopping, I was searching for a nail colour that would go with any outfit/colour I chose to pair it with. That's when I came across the Rimmel London 60 Seconds range. I'd been looking at these nail polishes a lot recently but was yet to decide on whether to buy any or not. I saw the most gorgeous colour and had to buy it. The colour was 825 Sky High.

This nail polish comes with an extra large brush for easy application. On the back of the bottle in super small print it says only one coat is necessary, although I found I needed to coats to get the full colour. I used Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base&Top Coat as a base, then applied two coats of the Rimmel colour and then applied another coat of the Sally Hansen Double Duty as a top coat. It seems to be staying on quite well now, and as for the 60 second drying part; that was quite good, too. I definitely recommend this nail polish for someone with not much time on their hands who would like to get the job done quickly. This colour is more of a summery colour, although it goes very well with almost any other colour so you can wear it with any outfit.
Check back soon for a special surprise!

summer break! (:

Well, it's summer break where I live, and this calls for plenty of visits to the beach and lots and lots of shopping!
With christmas just around the corner, I have a lot of my presents already waiting under the tree. One of my presents, a 27inch iMac, was a little bit too big to fit under the tree so I begged for my parents to let me have it early and... now I have it! Yay! So now that i have a new computer I will be on it a lot more than my old, slow laptop, and that means.... lots more posts!

Tomorrow I'm going to a pool party, which I'm sure will be super fun! I'm making a quick post to show you the swimsuit and shorts that I'll wear.

This is my swimsuit. I got it from target for about $34.00. I really like the pattern and design, also it is very comfortable.
It has a tie thing to keep it up and its really pretty. It has super cute gold beads on it that I think make it look very summery.
These are my board shorts. They're not very exciting, just boring black. But they go with any style of swimsuit/bikini so I absolutely love them! I got them from Myer a couple of years ago and I can't remember how much they cost.

The shoes I will wear are just simple flip flops with beading on them. (:
I hope you enjoyed this post, keep an eye out for plenty more to come!

graduation !!

Last night Leah and I had our graduation. Yesterday was a super eventful day because I also got the Dux award, although most american people probably don't kinow what that is, so feel free to ask. I will put some pictures showing Leah and I and then I'll tell you where I got my dress and also how I did my makeup and hair. (:

Ok, so for my makeup I did a grey smokey eye using white on all my eyelid, then silver on the outer half of my lid and a darker black-ish colour in the crease. I lined half of my bottom lashline with black eyeliner and then put white eyeliner on my waterline.

I curled my hair, but not all of it, just every inch or so I did a curl because my hair is already curly. (:

My dress is from David Jones. It is from an Australian designer and the brand is Mr K. I got it for $249.99. I saw a few other pretty dresses but I just decided on this one. You can check Leah's blog ( Leahs-land.blogspot.com ) for information on her dress and makeup. (:

It was a really fun night, and I'm sure I'll remember it forever.

L'oreal Paris Resist&Shine Titanium Nail polish

Well, today I went shopping again, and I wasn't planning on buying makeup, my mum and I were supposed to be getting an Xbox 360 Kinnect from Target but they were sold out. So, I decided to have a quick look in thge Beauty aisles. My mum asked me what I was doing with my nails for grad and I said I would just paint them red, but then she pointed out that the red nailpolish we had at home was a completely different red than my dress. We looked around alot and found a great colour that looks exactly like my dress. I also ended up getting a white, too, because it was 2for1 and I really needed a new white nail polish.
Here's a pic of the two I got :
And here's another picture to show the colour of the reddish one better :
It's sort of a red-black colour and it goes really well with my dress. I'm also really happy i got two nail polishes for only $13.75. Also, it says the nailpolish last 7 days without chipping, so I'll get back to you on whether that's true or not. (:

Keep and eye out for my graduation post!

new product!

Hey Gals!
I can't exactly title this as a mini-haul because i only got one thing... oh well!
The product i got was the Maybelline Volum' Express Colossal Waterproof mascara in the colour Glam Black/Blackest Black.
I tested this out as soon as i got home and I was pretty impressed to say the least. My old mascara was getting very clumpy and I always found it gave off an unrealistic effect, but when i tried this on it made my lashes so much longer and darker, but didn't look fake. I made sure to get waterproof because I'm getting it for my graduation night and will probably cry having to leave all my good friends, especially leah (leahs-land.blogspot.com).

Leah and I will both be doing big graduation posts on wednesday or thursday, sometime after grad. We will put heaps of pics of our dresses and makeup too!

more reviews

So, last weekend I went on a quick shopping-ish trip. It wasn't all that great but heres some reviews on some of the things i bought.
reviews #1

1. Silkymit.
I think the silkymit is okay but I'm not sure I'd really reccommend it to anyone. It works great for me, but the first time i used it I ended up with a dreadfull spotty rash, I don't know if it's just my sensitive skin, or the fact I was sandpapering my legs... I don't know. But I do have some tips to make the silkymit awesome and leave your legs rash-free. First, make sure the first time you use it, you aren't going out anywhere on that particular day. Second, after using the silkymit take a cold shower, making sure to get your legs wet. Third, the next times you use silkymit you shouldn't get any rashes because the silkymit will be worn down a bit and should work lovely. (:

2. Dove Go Fresh Bodywash Burst (NEctarine&White ginger).
Cannot explain how much I love this product. It smells sooooo good and leaves your skin feeling smooth. I absolutely love it, the only bad part is that the smell wears off very quickly so you don't get t keep that yummy Nectarine & White Ginger smell with you all day.

3. Veet in shower hair removal cream.
This product was quite good. It got rid of 90% of the hairs on my legs and I used the silkymit for the rest. It has quite a nice smell compared to other normal hair removal creams, so that's definetly a plus. The only con is that if you get any on your fingers, it will make your nails start to peel. That's kinda creepy. I reccommend gloves (:
